Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of baking experience
  • Valid Food Handlers permit
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers (-10F) and kitchens (+110F)
  • Capacity to stand and exert mobility for up to 4 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and frequently lift 25 lbs
  • Physical ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, stretch, and perform repetitive motions
  • Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking the primary language used at work

Job Qualifications

  • Certified level cook and/or experience in food production and preparation
  • Minimum of 2 years baking experience
  • Food Handlers permit
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace
  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
  • High school or equivalent education
  • Associate Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts
  • Artisan Bread Experience
  • Knowledge of baking trends and modern baking methods
  • Continuing education in baking

Job Duties

  • Prepare the highest quality food products for restaurant and banquets according to menu descriptions and pastry leadership direction
  • Maintain the highest level of execution and food quality while following timelines and banquet event orders
  • Prep, prepare, and execute all menu items to specification daily
  • Comply with food safety rules and regulations under HAACP, ServSafe, and state ordinances
  • Keep work station and storage areas clean and organized at all times
  • Inspect all food products to maintain proper appearance, colors, and appeal
  • Mix, ferment, shape, proof, score, bake, and cool breads
  • Assist Head Baker with recipe development, daily ordering, menu planning, and organizing production priorities
