Job Qualifications

  • Five years of cooking experience
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification
  • basic computer skills to access emails and online resources
  • professional, proactive, collaborative and results-oriented attitude
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • good intuition and adaptability to changing priorities
  • strong organizational, strategic thinking and multitasking abilities
  • ability to innovate and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • sound judgment and a sense of humor

Job Duties

  • Bakes, prepares, cooks and presents desserts and baked goods in accordance with quality and productivity standards
  • manages daily production sheets and portion control according to menus and standardized recipes
  • ensures minimal food waste through proper inventory and food rotation practices
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, utensils, and equipment following all local, state, federal, and kosher regulations
  • logs temperatures for all food items and reports deviations to management
  • assists in developing cooking procedures, recipes, and menus for the culinary staff
  • collaborates with Jr. Sous Chef and Executive Sous Chef to execute special orders and other culinary tasks
  • promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships maintaining professional conduct at all times
  • trains and engages colleagues in best baking practices
  • demonstrates good judgment and initiative in food preparation
  • follows safety, uniform, jewelry and personal hygiene policies
  • maintains a positive and supportive attitude towards patients, staff and visitors
