Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial baking
  • Ability to stand for 5-6 hours a day and to squat, reach and bend regularly
  • Knowledge of food storage and handling techniques
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions including menus and recipes
  • Willingness to work in a kitchen setting involving climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Commitment to welcome and nurture people of all backgrounds and support an inclusive environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial baking
  • Preference for candidates with a post high school degree
  • Preference for candidates with at least two years of full-time experience in a related hospitality setting or equivalent education and work experience
  • Professional baking experience

Job Duties

  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices
  • Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
  • Food production for bakery orders for various groups and events
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned
