Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous baking experience preferred but not required
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to baking
  • willingness to work flexible hours including overnights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation regulations
  • good interpersonal skills
  • eligibility to work in the United States

  • ability to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • good communication and customer service skills
  • ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • teamwork and collaboration skills
  • willingness to learn and adapt to healthcare food service environment

Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
  • assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking and product shortages
  • ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • handle food items appropriately and in compliance with safety regulations
  • clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed according to standards
  • follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner according to department standards
  • perform other duties as assigned
