Job Requirements

  • Five years of prior baking or pastry experience is required
  • Ability to work full-time with varying schedules
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations including use of cut-resistant gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes
  • Must maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including safe lifting
  • Must be able to interact professionally with customers and supervisors
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks timely and thoroughly

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years prior baking or pastry experience
  • Proficiency in baking breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and production specifications
  • Experience in maintaining sanitation and safety standards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Capability to work in fast-paced, peak production environments
  • Ability to maintain equipment and complete production records accurately

Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • Assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • Inform supervisor when supplies are low
  • Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
  • Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
  • Relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
  • Keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • Check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
  • Complete shift work in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
