Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar baking role preferred
- proficiency in professional baking techniques including preparation, recipes, temperature and flavor control
- ability to work full time with flexible shifts including mornings, days, nights and weekends
- adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- effective communication and customer service skills
- ability to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment
- capacity to keep up with peak production demands
- physical stamina for baking duties including lifting and standing for extended durations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- minimum of 3 years of experience in a bakery or similar culinary role
- strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards
- ability to follow recipes and production guidelines accurately
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- good customer service and communication skills
- ability to work flexibly on varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends
- physical ability to perform baking tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- commitment to maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
- assists in production planning to meet daily requirements
- ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
- assists with the completion of production records to include waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
- informs supervisor when supplies are low
- ensures proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
- handles food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
- cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
- keeps display equipment clean and free of debris
- interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
- relays relevant concerns to supervisors
- consistently manages peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
- checks to ensure food is presented, served and displayed per standards
- follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA standards are followed
- completes shift work as assigned in a timely and thorough manner
- performs other duties as assigned
