Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree in related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional bakery or kitchen setting with knowledge of artisan breads and pastries as well as basic mixing skills
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers, students, faculty, and staff face to face, and maintain a pleasant and inviting environment for all
  • Must be able to produce products using standard and non-standard recipes
  • Must have basic pastry skills
  • Must be able to work with others and supervise interns in the production of like items
  • Must be able to evaluate product errors and make corrections to prevent waste
  • Must maintain a proper inventory of stock items for production of retail/wholesale products
  • Must be able to keep simple records
  • Must be able to conduct inventory and report needed supplies
  • Must maintain proper sanitation standards

  • Follows recipes and production sheets accurately
  • Responsible for sanitation
  • Maintains proper levels of inventory for the display cases and customer orders
  • Supervision of interns that are assigned to their station
  • Performs other duties as assigned
