Job Requirements

  • food handlers permit required within 90 days of hire
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work standing and walking for prolonged periods
  • willingness to comply with all food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • good communication skills
  • dependable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or nutrition services is advantageous
  • ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • basic knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • assist in planning and preparing menu options including hot and cold entrees for patients cafeteria and catering
  • set up and maintain serving line in a timely manner ensuring proper stock of menu options service ware and temperatures are within acceptable ranges
  • operate and maintain all kitchen equipment including but not limited to dishwasher conventional stove cooler and ice maker in a clean efficient and safe manner
  • maintain cafeteria sitting rooms and beverage areas to ensure neatness and sanitization
  • ensure proper logging charting production sheets and other documentation is adhered to for food safety and sanitation requirements
  • maintain and adhere to all sanitation standards
  • perform all other duties assigned within Food & Nutrition Services
