Job Requirements
- food handlers permit required within 90 days of hire
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work standing and walking for prolonged periods
- willingness to comply with all food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- good communication skills
- dependable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food service or nutrition services is advantageous
- ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- basic knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- assist in planning and preparing menu options including hot and cold entrees for patients cafeteria and catering
- set up and maintain serving line in a timely manner ensuring proper stock of menu options service ware and temperatures are within acceptable ranges
- operate and maintain all kitchen equipment including but not limited to dishwasher conventional stove cooler and ice maker in a clean efficient and safe manner
- maintain cafeteria sitting rooms and beverage areas to ensure neatness and sanitization
- ensure proper logging charting production sheets and other documentation is adhered to for food safety and sanitation requirements
- maintain and adhere to all sanitation standards
- perform all other duties assigned within Food & Nutrition Services
