Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year baking experience or relevant education
- Willingness to work part-time weekend shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Fully vaccinated preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy kitchen setting
Job Qualifications
- At least one year experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen or equivalent education
- Experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
- Ability to create and decorate new bakery items
- Skills in following standardized recipes accurately
- Capability to supervise and delegate tasks to kitchen assistants
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and dietary needs
Job Duties
- Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts for residents and employees following standardized recipes
- Calculate quantities required for the number of persons to be served
- Delegate responsibilities to cook assistants involved in preparation
- Assist in cleaning functions to maintain a safe and sanitary work area
- Ensure food is stored, marked, dated, and covered correctly following FIFO methods
- Meet food production schedules according to menu
- Prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
- Notify Food Service Director or Chef of low food items and supplies
- Perform duties in alignment with The Village mission and Food Service Department motto
- Carry out other assigned duties and special projects related to dietary service operations
