Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimal one year baking experience or education substitution
- ability to work weekends for part-time shift
- preferred experience as line cook or prep cook
- ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
- excellent interpersonal skills
- fully vaccinated preferred
Job Qualifications
- at least one year experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen
- creativity in introducing new menu items
- decorating skills
- experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
- ability to follow standardized recipes
- strong organizational and delegation skills
- excellent communication abilities
Job Duties
- prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts according to standardized recipes
- calculate quantities required for the number of persons to be served
- delegate responsibilities to cook assistants
- assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work area
- ensure proper food storage following FIFO methods
- meet food production schedules according to menu
- prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
- notify Food Service Director or Chef of low supply items
- perform duties in line with the mission statement of The Village and adhere to the Food Service Department motto
