Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimal one year baking experience or education substitution
  • ability to work weekends for part-time shift
  • preferred experience as line cook or prep cook
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • fully vaccinated preferred

Job Qualifications

  • at least one year experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen
  • creativity in introducing new menu items
  • decorating skills
  • experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
  • ability to follow standardized recipes
  • strong organizational and delegation skills
  • excellent communication abilities

Job Duties

  • prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts according to standardized recipes
  • calculate quantities required for the number of persons to be served
  • delegate responsibilities to cook assistants
  • assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work area
  • ensure proper food storage following FIFO methods
  • meet food production schedules according to menu
  • prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
  • notify Food Service Director or Chef of low supply items
  • perform duties in line with the mission statement of The Village and adhere to the Food Service Department motto
