Job Requirements

  • At least one year of baking experience from scratch
  • Ability to work weekend shifts part-time
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to handle special diet requirements
  • Effective delegation and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Fully vaccinated preferred

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen or equivalent education
  • Experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
  • Creativity in introducing new baked goods and decorating skills
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
  • Strong communication and delegation skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts following standardized recipes
  • Calculate quantities required for the number of persons to be served
  • Delegate responsibilities to cooks assistants in the preparation process
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe and sanitary work area
  • Ensure proper food storage using FIFO methods
  • Meet food production schedules according to the menu
  • Prepare baked goods for banquets and special functions
  • Notify Food Service Director or Chef of low food supplies
  • Perform duties aligned with the mission of The Village and customer satisfaction
