Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year baking experience or relevant education
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to perform physical kitchen tasks
- Knowledge of standardized recipe adherence
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
- Capable of following instructions accurately
Job Qualifications
- At least one year experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen
- Experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
- Ability to create new menu items and decorate baked goods
- Strong organizational and delegation skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts following standardized recipes
- Calculate ingredient quantities for number of persons served
- Delegate responsibilities to assistant cooks
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area
- Ensure proper storage, marking, dating and covering of food items using FIFO methods
- Meet food production schedules according to the menu
- Prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
- Notify Food Service Director and/or Chef of low supply of food items and supplies
- Perform duties in alignment with The Village's mission and Food Service Department motto
