Job Requirements
- At least one year experience in baking from scratch
- creativity and decorating skills
- ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
- preferred experience as line cook or prep cook
- ability to delegate and supervise cook assistants
- availability to work part-time weekends
- high school diploma or equivalent or relevant education
- fully vaccinated preferred
Job Qualifications
- Experience baking from scratch for a busy kitchen
- creativity in introducing new menu items and decorating baked goods
- experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
- ability to follow standardized recipes
- strong organizational and delegation skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- excellent communication skills
- high school diploma or equivalent
- education may be substituted for experience
Job Duties
- Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts for residents and employees following standardized recipes
- calculate quantities required for the number of persons to be served
- delegate preparation responsibilities to cook assistants
- assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment
- ensure food storage, marking, dating, and covering follows FIFO methods
- meet food production schedules according to the menu
- prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
- notify supervisor of food items and supplies in low supply
- perform all duties in keeping with the mission statement and customer satisfaction motto
- complete other assigned duties and special projects related to dietary operations
