Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of bakery experience or equivalent education
  • experience in busy kitchen environments
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • knowledge of standard baking and food safety procedures
  • preferred experience as line or prep cook
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of baking from scratch experience
  • creativity in baking and decorating
  • experience as line cook or prep cook preferred
  • ability to follow standardized recipes
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • effective delegation and supervision skills
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare baked goods and desserts following standardized recipes
  • calculate quantities needed for serving
  • delegate tasks to cooks assistants
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the kitchen
  • ensure food storage follows proper FIFO methods
  • meet food production schedules
  • prepare special baked goods for banquets and functions
  • notify Food Service Director or Chef of low supplies
  • uphold mission and customer satisfaction motto
  • perform assigned duties related to dietary department operations
