Job Requirements

  • At least one year of baking experience from scratch
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or equivalent education
  • Ability to prepare desserts for special diets
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and food preparation tasks
  • Fully vaccinated preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen
  • Creativity in introducing new menu items
  • Decorating skills
  • Experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
  • Ability to delegate tasks to cook assistants
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts from standardized recipes
  • Calculate ingredient quantities based on the number of persons served
  • Delegate responsibilities to cook assistants
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area
  • Ensure proper food storage, marking, dating, and coverage following FIFO methods
  • Meet food production schedules according to the menu
  • Prepare baked goods for banquets and special functions
  • Notify Food Service Director or Chef of low food supplies
  • Perform duties aligned with the mission statement and Food Service Department motto
