Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year baking experience or equivalent education
- Experience baking from scratch in a busy kitchen
- Creativity in baking and decorating
- Ability to work as part of a culinary team
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- Flexibility to assist with special functions and additional assignments
- Preferred full COVID-19 vaccination status
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of baking experience from scratch in a busy kitchen
- Ability to introduce creative new menu items and decorate baked goods
- Experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred
- Education may be substituted for experience
- Strong organizational and delegation skills
- Knowledge of safe food handling and storage practices
- Ability to meet food production schedules and work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Prepare appetizing baked goods and desserts according to standardized recipes
- Calculate ingredient quantities based on number of persons to be served
- Delegate responsibilities to cooks assistants
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe and sanitary work area
- Ensure proper food storage using FIFO methods
- Meet food production schedules
- Prepare baked goods and desserts for banquets and special functions
- Notify Food Service Director or Chef of low supply items
- Perform duties in alignment with The Village's mission and Food Service Department motto
- Undertake additional assignments related to dietary department operations
