Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- Early morning or afternoon/evening availability depending on cafe location
- Willingness to perform physical activities including stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders
- Capable of handling equipment such as slicers, knives, scissors, and ovens
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Capacity to manage exposure to temperature extremes in walk-in freezers and ovens
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in food preparation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desire to learn and develop
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Enthusiasm, energy, and positive attitude
- Self-starter capable of working independently
- Complete knowledge of bakery menu items and preparation
- Demonstrated responsibility for attendance and schedule adherence
- Maintains proper uniform and grooming to make a good impression
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to get along well with peers and management
Job Duties
- Bake the majority of a cafe's fresh bread and pastries
- Ensure all Panera products are prepared according to Panera's standards
- Meet the highest standards and consistency in food preparation, sanitation, and safety
- Accept responsibility for all tasks delegated by management
- Work primarily alone with minimal supervision
- Perform operational activities such as stocking, prep, and sanitation
- Collaborate as a team member with management and fellow team members
- Incorporate the concept essence and cultural values into daily bakery-cafe operations
- Adhere to cleaning protocols and proper operation of equipment and facilities
