Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in food preparation or retail bakery environment is advantageous
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to operate baking equipment and follow recipes accurately
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- proficiency with digital technology and handheld devices for inventory and quality control
- ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- capable of standing for long periods and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Duties
- Collaborates with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- communicates with team members and adapts to business needs by working in other areas
- prepares bakery merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment and following recipes and make-up instructions
- wraps, labels, and stores merchandise according to company policies and procedures
- ensures compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management
- operates, maintains, and sanitizes equipment
- demonstrates understanding of product and layout execution
- uses digital tools and handheld technology to make business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality
- ensures operational excellence by maintaining work areas and adhering to company policies
- monitors quality and date control standards for bakery items
- secures fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- assists members with purchasing decisions
- advocates for the department and club by modeling high-quality service and products
- complies with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards
- completes work assignments using policies and data
- collaborates with managers, co-workers, and business partners
- communicates progress and information
- adapts to change and feedback
