Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in bakery or food production is beneficial but not required
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- ability to operate baking equipment and follow recipes accurately
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- proficiency in using handheld digital technology
- ability to stand for extended periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- customer service orientation with a problem-solving attitude
- willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and tools
Job Duties
- Collaborates with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- prepares bakery department merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment
- follows recipes and make-up instructions
- wraps, labels, and stores merchandise according to company policies and procedures
- ensures compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management
- operates, maintains, and sanitizes equipment
- leverages digital tools to drive sales and improve shopping experience
- uses handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality
- maintains commitment to operational excellence and quality standards
- secures fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- eliminates waste
- assists members with purchasing decisions
- ensures merchandise is properly packaged and stored
- represents the department and the club by valuing members’ experience and modeling high-quality service and products
- complies with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- completes work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers, co-workers, and customers
- adapts to change and feedback
