Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Ability to perform housekeeping and sanitation duties
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
  • Food Handlers permit or ability to obtain one
  • Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills
  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the bakery department
  • Capable of operating knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift and handle physical tasks involving lifting and transferring trays and items

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service while ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery department area and equipment
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Operate bakery equipment and use knowledge of scales and weight to accurately weigh and label products
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
