Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Good communication skills
- Ability to take direction and work in a team
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Ability to perform housekeeping and sanitation duties
- Ability to operate bakery equipment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 40 lbs
- Food Handlers permit or ability to obtain one
- Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the bakery department
- Capable of operating knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift and handle physical tasks involving lifting and transferring trays and items
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service while ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery department area and equipment
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy, temperature, and quality
- Operate bakery equipment and use knowledge of scales and weight to accurately weigh and label products
- Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
