Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking or food service experience preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 60 pounds
- Availability to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and flexible evening or overnight shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines rigorously
Job Qualifications
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
- Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment while supporting team members
- Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on ovens, lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, mixers, slicing and packaging machinery, and other equipment
- Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations with the ability to make timely and effective decisions
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and production lists precisely to ensure high-quality bakery and pastry items
- Monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage
- Adhere to all Health Department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with finding items, taking special orders, and addressing concerns
- Answer phone calls with proper etiquette and ensure guest satisfaction
- Monitor stock levels and service floor needs, ensuring proper assortment and production-level
- Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily
- Work closely with all Bakery associates to meet department goals and support a positive team environment
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
- Perform other duties as assigned
