Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year related experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to perform physical activities including stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
- Ability to meet visual requirements with or without correction
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must maintain personal hygiene and adhere to dress code
- Must adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Ability to work in fast-paced, temperature-variable environment with exposure to flour, noise, dampness, vibrations and cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Over six months up to one year of related bakery or food service experience
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- Ability to copy data, guide people and provide basic direction
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- Make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
- Assist customers by escorting to products, securing out of reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, passing customer suggestions
- Answer telephone promptly and take product orders
- Check orders and set production schedules
- Prepare, bake and fry department products
- Review product freshness and pull stale items
- Invoice and put away products
- Anticipate product needs for current and subsequent days
- Inspect incoming product quality and quantity
- Use bakery equipment and follow up on maintenance
- Check signage for correct labels
- Review department for safety issues
- Operate as lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritize and proof orders
- Pull products from freezer or cooler
- Practice proper sanitation and maintain clean work area
- Maintain adherence to hygiene and dress
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on schedule
- Order supplies and merchandise
- Re-merchandise shelves and discard outdated products
- Write schedules and manage employee attendance
- Assist in other store areas as needed
- Perform other related duties and projects
