Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year of relevant bakery or food production experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and bakery-related hazards
- Availability to adhere to scheduled work hours and maintain punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience
- Knowledge of bakery equipment use and maintenance
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Proficient in arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks and repetitive motions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- Make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along suggestions
- Answer telephone promptly and take product orders
- Check orders and set up timeline and production schedule
- Prepare, bake and fry all department products as needed
- Review product freshness and pull by stale date
- Invoice and put away product
- Anticipate product needs for current and subsequent days
- Inspect incoming product quality and quantity
- Understand and address bakery equipment issues
- Check signage for correct labels
- Review department for safety issues
- Operate as a lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritize orders as per requests
- Proof necessary items
- Pull product from freezer or cooler
- Practice proper sanitation and maintain clean work area
- Maintain adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on schedule and on time
