Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
Strong attention to detail and time management
Passion for quality, safety and sanitation
Excellent communication and listening skills
Can read, write and speak English
Friendly attitude and team player
Ability to work independently
Proactive and urgent demeanor
Ability to stand for extended periods up to 6 hours
Ability to move around café to attend guest needs
Ability to move, lift and handle objects up to 25 pounds
Ability to position self to move items from floor to shelves and cabinets

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous baking experience preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
Passion for quality, safety and sanitation standards
Excellent communication and listening skills
Ability to read, write and speak English
Friendly attitude and team player who contributes to company culture
Ability to work independently and make decisions
Demonstrated ability to provide training to new team members
Ability to maintain physical stamina for standing and moving throughout the café

Job Duties

Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including bread and pastries using precise café standards
Ensure correct quantities of baked goods are produced daily and collaborate with management on production schedules
Manage the baking environment by maintaining quality presentation, monitoring oven temperature and baking times, and evaluating product against standards
Visually merchandise and display all products attractively
Receive and store inventory, proof and prepare dough for baking, and bake to ensure product consistency
Keep work area clean, organized and stocked, responsible for proper sanitation of work environment
Demonstrate hospitality, respect and a friendly attitude toward guests and team members
Resolve problems promptly and keep management informed as issues arise
Provide on-the-job training for new bakers as needed
Perform prep and utility duties as needed and back up other roles when necessary
Assist in café setup and maintain additional stations for coffee, tea, oatmeal and soup
Execute other related responsibilities as assigned
