Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- no felony, theft, or stealing convictions
- must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
- must pass background investigation
- must obtain and maintain a gaming license
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- minimum 1 year recent experience in baking or pastry
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- availability to work evenings, graveyards, holidays, weekends, and irregular shifts
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- physical ability to perform duties requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- at least 1 year experience as a baker, pastry cook, or baker’s assistant
- knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and machinery
- knowledge of safe kitchen practices
- knowledge of basic bread and pastry methods and techniques
- ability to communicate, read, and write basic English
- ability to provide outstanding guest service
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to maintain a professional appearance
- ability to organize and coordinate tasks among team members
- ability to use and administer cleaning equipment and supplies safely
- knowledge of basic foods and their uses
- knowledge of food safety regulations
- ability to learn culinary methods and techniques
- ability to communicate clearly with management at all levels
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of baked goods according to menu and business demand
- uses and learns proper knife skills, baking and pastry techniques, methods, and terminology
- reads, understands, and follows standardized recipes for bakery and pastry items
- communicates clearly with Pastry Chefs regarding food and product needs
- maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area following all health and food safety regulations
- ensures all assigned venue or kitchen areas are maintained and ready to open on time
- keeps all food storage areas clean, organized, labeled, and dated
- cleans and organizes equipment, tools, floors, workstations, and food prep areas
- works according to established procedures of the Casino
- communicates well with team members to maintain a positive and professional work environment
- contributes to team efforts and accomplishes all tasks
- performs other duties as required
