Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Two years of high-volume bakery or other closely related work experience
- Solid basic employment skills, including reading, oral, and written communication skills
- Intermediate math skills
- ServSafe or similar food safety course certificate or must pass ServSafe exam within first year of employment
- Broad range of technical skills with commercial kitchen equipment

- Ability to weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen equipment and utensils preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitask, and prioritize deadlines preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills preferred
- Ability to engage customers with willingness and dedication preferred
- Able to work with diverse groups of people preferred
Job Duties
- Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position
- Prepare cookies, bars, cakes, pies, puddings, desserts, and other products according to standardized recipes
- Maintain quality standards in food handling and preparation
- Maintain standards of sanitation and safety as established by local, state, and federal health officials
- Maintain cost awareness with an emphasis on minimizing waste
- Maintain equipment and work areas in neat, clean, and orderly conditions
- Perform basic routine preventive maintenance on designated equipment
- Report equipment repairs needed
- Assist with testing and standardizing new recipes and submit recipe adjustments as needed
- Work with student employees, coworkers, and management in service to our customers and assist with student employee recruitment and retention
- Other duties as assigned
