Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Previous food service experience required
  • Current food safety training certificate required and must be renewed every three years
  • Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours including holidays and weekends
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Must be able to handle physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and bending
  • Must comply with health, safety, and sanitation codes
  • Must maintain punctuality and good attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions in both English and Spanish

  • Basic mathematical skills including weights and measures
  • Ability to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Job Duties

  • Light the gas ovens and check for gas leaks
  • Bake bread, pastries, and other bakery items
  • Prepare flan, custards, rice pudding, and other bakery items
  • Place baked goods into bags and stock displays
  • Maintain awareness of floor conditions and ensure safety
  • Restock food displays from kitchen, cooler and storage
  • Maintain sanitary work area and adhere to health and safety codes
  • Clean and store utensils and equipment properly
  • Use kitchen equipment according to guidelines and report malfunctions
  • Report accidents promptly as per company policy
  • Assist head cook as needed
  • Handle hot trays safely
  • Maintain cleanliness using gloves when required
  • Prepare dough overnight for next day baking
  • Attend department and store meetings
  • Ensure punctuality and good attendance
  • Perform other duties to meet position objectives
  • Assist food servers by responding to food product requests
  • Sweep and mop floors as needed
