Job Requirements

  • Serv-Safe certification within 24 months
  • Good cooking skills with restaurant or institutional background
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to calculate ingredient amounts when adjusting recipes
  • Ability to interpret written and oral instructions
  • Completion of Food Services Sanitation class or in-service
  • Preferred: 5 years progressive food service experience or Culinary Arts Degree with three years experience

Job Duties

  • Hands-on baking producing a variety of baked goods including cookies, pastries, biscotti, and bars
  • Producing high-end desserts for catered events
  • Following safe cooking techniques and food safety protocols
  • Executing recipes with precision and consistency
  • Applying quality control standards to ensure food quality and adherence
  • Preparing and serving food according to menu and dietary requirements
  • Modifying recipes to accommodate food allergies
  • Maintaining proper labeling and storage of food products and equipment
  • Washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
  • Championing food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
