Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must pass background check
- Must have knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen/bakery equipment
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift including holidays and weekends
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, and pull a minimum of 100 lbs in a cart
- Must be able to reach above and below shoulder while carrying a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods or entire shift
- Must have flexibility in fingers and hands to utilize bakery equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Familiarity with all phases of bakery operations and ability to react to changing business demands
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and operation
- Ability to use bakery equipment
- Knowledge of pastry bag use, cake decorating skills, piping and knife techniques
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Experience in baking and decorating pastries and desserts
- Ability to maintain quality standards and follow recipes accurately
Job Duties
- Responsible for the production and decorating of all baked and finished goods for property outlets
- Follows standard, established recipes by weighing, mixing, proofing, baking and finishing baked products
- Ability to produce individual pastries, cakes, pies, plated desserts, breads, cookies, and to decorate by set company standards
- Ability to mix, form and bake formulas accurately for consistent products and troubleshoot when items are incorrect
- Follow order forms and forecast ingredients needed for following day
- Prepare pans for baking while loading and unloading ovens
- Operate kitchen equipment including scale, upright mixer, steam kettle, stove, sheeter, glaze machine, confectionary machines, heat lamps, deep fryers, broiler, and basic hand tools
- Oversee workstation based on par levels, occupancy, and reservations maintaining quality
- Maintain and rotate dated food stock for quality assurance
- Provide relief for Sous Chefs and assist in all kitchen areas as assigned
- Maintain assigned station in a clean and sanitary condition
- Recognize and correct product discrepancies in quality, standards, and specifications
