Job Requirements
- High school graduate required
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in a bakery setting required
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, and work with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates, and other outside contacts
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as a condition of employment
- Willingness to comply with vaccination status inquiries for MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis, flu, and COVID-19
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical baking tasks
Job Qualifications

- Pastry arts diploma or equivalent education preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in a bakery setting
- Ability to communicate with and empathize with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
Job Duties
- Prepare fresh breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, and desserts daily
- Execute recipes consistently while maintaining high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation
- Prepare baked items for regular meals, special events, holidays, and resident celebrations
- Modify recipes as needed for special diets such as diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, gluten-free, texture-modified, pureed
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menus and seasonal offerings
- Participate in menu tastings and resident feedback sessions
- Assist with special-theme meals and community events
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines including ServSafe and local health codes
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, rotation, and temperature control of all baked goods
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
- Minimize food waste through proper planning and portion control
- Demonstrate a resident-first approach with patience, respect, and professionalism
- Occasionally interact with residents during special events or demonstrations
- Support the community's mission of enhancing quality of life through dining
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
