Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a bakery setting
  • Ability to communicate and empathize with diverse individuals including residents and team members
  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption
  • Willingness to adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours including special events and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform baking duties and maintain a clean work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Pastry Arts diploma or equivalent education preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a bakery setting
  • Ability to communicate with and empathize with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including ServSafe and local health codes
  • Experience modifying recipes for special dietary needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a culinary team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to resident-first service approach

Job Duties

  • Prepare fresh breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, and desserts daily
  • Execute recipes consistently while maintaining high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation
  • Prepare baked items for regular meals, special events, holidays, and resident celebrations
  • Modify recipes as needed for special diets such as diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, gluten-free, texture-modified, and pureed
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menus and seasonal offerings
  • Participate in menu tastings and resident feedback sessions
  • Assist with special-theme meals and community events
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines including ServSafe and local health codes
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, rotation, and temperature control of all baked goods
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
  • Minimize food waste through proper planning and portion control
  • Demonstrate a resident-first approach with patience, respect, and professionalism
  • Occasionally interact with residents during special events or demonstrations
  • Support the community's mission of enhancing quality of life through dining
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
