Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand in one spot for a long period of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel regularly (70 percent of the time)
  • Full range of upper body motion
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently (50 percent of the time)
  • Frequent repetitive motion of hands and wrists
  • Willingness to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and flexible evening or overnight shifts
  • Ability to work in an environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and frequent moving machinery
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
  • Part-time availability

Job Qualifications

  • Customer focus and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
  • Effective problem-solving skills in a dynamic and stressful work environment while supporting team members
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on bakery equipment
  • Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations with ability to make timely and effective decisions

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and production lists precisely to ensure high-quality bakery and pastry items
  • Monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage
  • Adhere to all health department guidelines and maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with finding items, taking special orders, and addressing concerns
  • Keep an eye on stock levels and service floor needs to ensure proper assortment and production level
  • Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily
  • Work closely with all bakery associates to meet department goals and support a positive team environment
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and providing adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Perform other duties as assigned
