Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year of similar or related baking experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Good vision with or without correction including color vision, depth perception and field of vision
- Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to flour, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment hazards and cleaning chemicals
- Commitment to punctuality and adherence to company policies
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year of related baking experience
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Skills in arithmetic involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead bakery clerks and manage orders
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
- Learn and use customers' names whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions, enhancing shopping experience
- Answer telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- Check daily orders and set production schedules
- Prepare make up, bake and fry all department products as needed
- Review product freshness and pull by stale date
- Invoice and put away products
- Anticipate product needs for current and subsequent days
- Inspect incoming product quality and quantity
- Understand bakery equipment use and maintenance issues
- Check signage and labels for correctness
- Review and ensure department safety
- Operate as lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritize orders as requested
- Proof necessary items
- Pull products from freezer or cooler
- Practice proper sanitation and maintain cleanliness
- Adhere to personal hygiene, dress, company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on schedule and on time
