Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in baking and food preparation
  • knowledge of food safety regulations
  • ability to work early mornings or variable shifts if required
  • good physical stamina for prolonged standing and manual tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves bakery products and desserts as per standardized recipes
  • prepares special therapeutic diet menus as prescribed by the Dietitian or Medical Department
  • determines amount and type of food and supplies including pre-prep required for daily menus and sees that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
  • prepares bakery production served, following standardized recipes and special diet orders
  • plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved
  • maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with the department dress code
  • maintains assigned work standards in a safe and sanitary condition
  • attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • reports to work as scheduled
  • performs any other related duties as required or assigned
