Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must demonstrate knowledge of baking techniques
- Must be able to work as a team member and interact positively with customers
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location
- Authorized to work within the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of baking techniques
- Ability to work positively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills in English
- Basic math skills for measuring and inventory
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Experience in a bakery or food preparation setting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance
- Commit to the Golden Rule and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- Achieve the highest associate morale by working in a style that is respectful, supportive and totally team oriented (RSTO)
- Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise and verify items against vendor invoices
- Keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy using oldest products first (first in, first out)
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy
- Prepare all baking mixtures according to company recipes and procedures
- Pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread
- Load and unload ovens, knowing proper temperatures and baking duration for all products
- Operate mixer and prepare products to meet customer specifications
- Adhere to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations including sanitation procedures
- Maintain neat personal appearance and comply with dress code including wearing approved hat or hair net
- Keep display cases, coolers and freezers organized and clean
- Exercise proper safety practices when lifting, moving product or using equipment
