Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Be able to operate bakery equipment
  • Ability to stand and transfer items for long periods
  • Adhere to safety and health regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Have an outgoing and friendly behavior and a positive attitude
  • Have good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously during an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to transfer trays and items of various weights safely
  • Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bakery department area and equipment
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special customer orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department and sanitize the work area
