Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work any day of the week and any shift including holidays and weekends
- Must pass background check
- Able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull a minimum of 100 lbs in a cart
- Able to reach above and below the shoulder while carrying a minimum of 50 lbs
- Able to stand for prolonged periods or entire shift
- Flexibility in fingers and hands to use kitchen and bakery equipment
- Must have knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen and bakery equipment
- Cake decorating and pastry bag skills
- Piping techniques
- Knife and spatula handling skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Familiarity with bakery operations and ability to react to changing business demands
Job Duties
- Responsible for the production and decorating of all baked and finished goods for property outlets
- Follows standard, established recipes by weighing, mixing, proofing, baking and finishing baked products
- Produces individual pastries, cakes, pies, plated desserts, breads, cookies, and other baked goods according to company standards
- Mixes, forms and bakes formulas accurately to ensure consistent product quality
- Follows order forms and forecasts ingredient requirements for the following day
- Prepares pans for baking while loading and unloading ovens
- Operates bakery and kitchen equipment such as scales, upright mixers, steam kettles, stoves, sheeters, glaze machines, confectionary machines, heat lamps, deep fryers, and broilers
- Oversees workstation inventory based on par levels, occupancy and reservations while maintaining quality
- Maintains and rotates dated food stock for quality assurance
- Provides relief for Sous Chefs and assists in other kitchen areas as needed
- Maintains assigned station clean and sanitary in accordance with department standards
- Recognizes and corrects any product discrepancies and quality variations
