Job Duties
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance
- Commit to the "Golden Rule" and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is respectful, supportive and totally team oriented
- Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise, check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered, check products for quality, count, and condition
- Keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas
- Prepare all baking mixtures in accordance with established company or department procedures and recipes
- Pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread
- Load and unload oven, know the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products
- Operate mixer and write on cakes/prepare product to meet customers specifications
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health and packaging requirements
- Practice the "Cleaner’s Creed" and proper sanitation procedures
- Maintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code, along with wearing approved hat or hair net
- Keep display cases, cooler and freezer organized and clean, along with cleaning walls, fans, drains, equipment, utensils, and work tables
- Wipe counter tops and front display cases
- Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment
- Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest cost supply
- Promote items on public address system
- Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
