Job Requirements
- Must have scratch baking experience
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of two years bakery experience
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to push/pull up to 200lbs
- Able to stand for 6-8 hours a day
- Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Ability to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- Ability to vertically transfer tray up to 5 lbs from 7 inches to 64 inches for up to 8 hours
- Ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs from 5 inches to 36 inches for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 8 hours without mechanical assistance
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- Exposure to temperatures below freezing, refrigerator temperatures, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- May require use of ladder
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' bakery experience
- Have and show an outgoing, friendly, positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
Job Duties
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health, and packaging requirements
- Prepare all doughs and scratch baking mixtures in accordance with established company or department procedures and recipes
- Pan up frozen products
- Pan and round up bread dough
- Ice sweet rolls, sweet breads, and cookies
- Scale cakes and cupcakes
- Quality check finished scratch-baked goods to make sure they meet company standards
- Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise
- Check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered
- Check products for quality, count, and condition
- Keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out)
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas
- Load and unload oven safely
- Know the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products
- Operate mixer in a responsible manner
- Perform all duties according to company policies and procedures
