Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to 6 hours
- Ability to move around the cafe to attend to needs of guests
- Ability to lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Passion for quality, safety and sanitation in food preparation
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Friendly attitude and ability to work well within a team
- Decision-making skills with ability to work independently
- Proactive and urgent demeanor
Job Duties
- Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including bread, pastries etc. using precise cafe standards
- Ensure correct quantities of baked goods are being produced daily and work with the management teams to plan production schedules
- Manage the baking environment by maintaining quality presentation, monitor oven temperature and baking times, and evaluate product against standards
- Visually merchandise and display all products
- Receive and store inventory, proof/prepare for baking, and bake to ensure the consistency of product
- Keep work area clean, organized and stocked, responsible for proper sanitation of the work environment
- Demonstrate hospitality, respect and a friendly attitude toward guests and fellow team members
