Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to operate bakery equipment and use scales
  • ability to perform general cleaning and sanitation duties
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • must maintain Food Handlers permit
  • reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • outgoing and friendly demeanor with positive attitude
  • good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • able to perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas
  • able to operate bakery equipment and use scales and weight measures
  • able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • adherence to all safety, health, and weight regulations

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness of the bakery department area including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks
  • adhere to safety and health regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit
