Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of related experience
- Able to work overnight shifts
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to perform physical activities including stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Good vision including color vision and depth perception
- Must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with temperature extremes
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over six months up to one year of similar or related experience
- Department training helpful
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to copy data, interview to obtain information, guide people, and provide basic direction
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency with bakery equipment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner across all store areas
- Make an effort to learn and address customers by name when possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions, and enhancing the shopping experience
- Answer telephone promptly and provide helpful service including taking product orders
- Check daily orders and set up a production timeline and schedule
- Prepare makeup, bake, and fry all bakery department products as needed
- Review product freshness and remove stale items
- Invoice and put away products as instructed
- Anticipate product needs for current and future days
- Inspect incoming product quality and quantity
- Understand bakery equipment use and report maintenance issues
- Check signage for correct labels
- Review department for potential safety hazards
- Operate as a lead with bakery clerks
- Prioritize orders as requested
- Proof necessary items
- Pull product from freezer or cooler
- Practice proper sanitation and maintain cleanliness
- Adhere to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Follow company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work on time when scheduled
