Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of related bakery experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to see clearly with or without correction
  • Willingness to comply with pre-employment drug screen
  • Adherence to company personal hygiene and dress codes
  • Availability to work scheduled hours and report on time

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of similar or related bakery experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Ability to interview and guide others for basic information
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and proof boxes
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow safety standards
  • Leadership experience or ability to act as lead in a bakery setting

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner in all store areas
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, passing customer suggestions
  • Answers telephone promptly and takes product orders
  • Checks day’s orders and sets production schedule
  • Prepares, bakes, and fries bakery products as needed
  • Reviews product for freshness and removes stale items
  • Invoices and stores products as instructed
  • Anticipates product needs for current and future days
  • Inspects incoming products for quality and quantity
  • Monitors bakery equipment for maintenance issues
  • Checks signage for correct labels
  • Reviews department for safety hazards
  • Acts as lead with bakery clerks
  • Prioritizes orders per requests
  • Proofs bakery items
  • Pulls products from freezer or cooler
  • Practices proper sanitation and maintains cleanliness
  • Adheres to company personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Follows company policies and store guidelines
  • Reports to work on schedule and on time
  • Orders supplies and merchandise as directed
  • Re-merchandises shelf and discards outdated products
  • Manages department schedule and employee attendance in manager’s absence
  • Assists other store areas as needed
  • Performs special projects and duties as required
