Job Duties
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance
- commit to the golden rule and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is respectful, supportive and totally team oriented (RSTO)
- assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise
- check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered
- check products for quality, count, and condition
- keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out)
- assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
- handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
- take stock to storage or shelf areas
- prepare all baking mixtures in accordance with established company or department procedures and recipes
- pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread
- load and unload oven
- know the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products
- operate mixer and write on cakes/prepare product to meet customers specifications
- adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health and packaging requirements
- practice the cleaner’s creed and proper sanitation procedures
- maintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code, along with wearing approved hat or hair net
- keep display cases, cooler and freezer organized and clean, along with cleaning walls, fans, drains, equipment, utensils, and work tables
- wipe counter tops and front display cases
- exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment
- restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest cost supply
- promote items on public address system
- notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement
- other duties as assigned by management
