Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience as a baker in a restaurant commercial or institutional facility
- Experience operating baking equipment
- Experience following recipes
- Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining
- Ability to lift and move up to 62 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
- Willingness to adhere to university policies and trainings
- Successful completion of strength and agility testing prior to employment
Job Qualifications
- One year of experience as a baker in a restaurant commercial or institutional facility
- Experience operating baking equipment
- Experience following recipes
- Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining
- Culinary degree preferred
- Two years of experience as a baker preferred
- Experience preparing and baking from scratch preferred
- High volume baking experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and work with little supervision preferred
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of all types of baked goods utilizing commercial kitchen equipment
- Read and comprehend recipes including recipe conversions and independently prepare recipes
- Assist with preparing product transfers and requisitions and complete daily production records and waste sheets
- Assist in cleaning all bakery areas and maintaining storage areas in a safe and organized condition
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines including proper labeling and storage of products
- Adhere to University policies including time and attendance and complete required food safety training
