Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Dependable and reliable with flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks including cleaning tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers
  • Ability to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift and transfer trays weighing up to 5 lbs from 7 to 64 inches for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to lift and transfer items weighing up to 40 lbs from 5 to 36 inches for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Hold and maintain a Food Handler's permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated or spoiled items
  • Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality
  • Take special orders and answer customer inquiries
  • Operate bakery equipment and use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
