Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • stand and walk for extended periods typically 8-hour shifts
  • lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • perform repetitive motions such as kneading dough and mixing ingredients
  • bend, stoop, and reach to access ingredients and place items in ovens
  • work in hot environments with ovens and baking equipment
  • maintain clear communication with customers and team members
  • work hours may vary including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • over one year of experience as a baker preferred but not required
  • ability to bake various goods following recipes and adjusting as necessary
  • knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
  • ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously such as baking, customer service, and cleaning
  • good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively with diverse personalities
  • previous retail experience is an added advantage

Job Duties

  • Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and techniques
  • weigh and measure ingredients precisely to ensure consistency in product quality
  • operate and maintain baking equipment including mixers, ovens, and proofing chambers
  • shape, mold, and decorate dough to create a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts
  • monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection and meet desired standards
  • coordinate with the bakery lead to determine baking priorities and production schedules
  • assist in inventory management ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies
  • follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic baking environment
  • perform other duties as assigned
