Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- stand and walk for extended periods typically 8-hour shifts
- lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- perform repetitive motions such as kneading dough and mixing ingredients
- bend, stoop, and reach to access ingredients and place items in ovens
- work in hot environments with ovens and baking equipment
- maintain clear communication with customers and team members
- work hours may vary including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- over one year of experience as a baker preferred but not required
- ability to bake various goods following recipes and adjusting as necessary
- knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously such as baking, customer service, and cleaning
- good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively with diverse personalities
- previous retail experience is an added advantage
Job Duties
- Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and techniques
- weigh and measure ingredients precisely to ensure consistency in product quality
- operate and maintain baking equipment including mixers, ovens, and proofing chambers
- shape, mold, and decorate dough to create a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts
- monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection and meet desired standards
- coordinate with the bakery lead to determine baking priorities and production schedules
- assist in inventory management ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies
- follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic baking environment
- perform other duties as assigned
