Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or acceptable combination of education and experience
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- physical capability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items
- adherence to food safety and health regulations including Food Handlers permit
- reliable and dependable work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- have an outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers
- possess good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- be able to answer phones and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping duties and sanitize work areas
- able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- capable of standing up to 3 hours continuously for 8-hour shifts and lifting items up to 40 lbs
- adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items
- receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- respond to customer inquiries and take special orders
- perform general housekeeping in the bakery department
