Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • availability to work varied hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • good hand-eye coordination
  • ability to perform repetitive motions
  • ability to work in hot environments
  • compliance with dress code including use of approved hats or hair nets, safety toes, and non-slip shoes
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to maintain physical stamina for an 8-hour shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • over one year of experience as a baker is preferred but not required
  • previous experience in retail is an added advantage
  • knowledge of basic baking processes and techniques including preparing dough, batters, and baked goods
  • familiarity with proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
  • ability to bake various goods following recipes and adjusting as necessary
  • ability to measure ingredients precisely and ensure quality and appearance of products
  • efficient time management skills
  • ability to adapt to changing situations and manage multiple demands
  • good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • good vision to ensure quality of baked goods

Job Duties

  • Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and techniques
  • weigh and measure ingredients precisely to ensure consistency in product quality
  • operate and maintain baking equipment including mixers, ovens, and proofing chambers
  • shape, mold, and decorate dough to create a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts
  • monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection and meet desired standards
  • coordinate with the bakery lead to determine baking priorities and production schedules
  • assist in inventory management ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies
  • follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic baking environment
  • perform other duties as assigned
