Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to interact positively with customers
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in bakery area
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical lifting
  • Compliance with safety and health regulations
  • Maintenance of Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work within a team
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Ability to perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Physical ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and perform lifting and carrying tasks up to 40 pounds
  • Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Maintenance of a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
  • Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • Answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department
