Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to interact positively with customers
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in bakery area
- Ability to operate bakery equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical lifting
- Compliance with safety and health regulations
- Maintenance of Food Handlers permit
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work within a team
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Ability to perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Physical ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and perform lifting and carrying tasks up to 40 pounds
- Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Maintenance of a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the bakery manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves, floors, and removing hazardous debris
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining product rotation and discarding outdated items
- Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- Answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping in the department
